○ My Story ○
a mother of a 26- year- old daughter and 21- year- old son. I am originally from New Mexico but have lived in Jersey City for over 25 years. I have been working with prenatal and postpartum women for over 15 years in a group setting. I look forward to spending time with you and your family to help you through this new chapter of your life.
“I left my corporate job to teach yoga”
I was a 200-hour certified yoga teacher when I took the prenatal yoga teacher training which changed my life. I resigned from my corporate job and began the path of a full time yoga teacher- Teaching yoga to just about anyone: kids, babies, seniors, young adults and expectant mothers.
As I continued, I realized my calling was for expectant mothers, babies, and young children.
Mostly focusing on expectant mothers, I realized that I was fascinated by the pregnant body and wanted to learn more about pregnancy and birth.
I enrolled in a community doula program to earn my certification as a birth doula and began to serve families.

Since I had two young children of my own, the schedule of a birth doula didn’t work well for me. I decided to pause my birth doula career and began to teach about birth through yoga and childbirth education.
My yoga schedule turned into prenatal yoga, postpartum yoga, and kids & baby yoga. Workshops about birth and postpartum and facilitating support groups for expectant, new, and working parents added to my cause.
“I have been doing this work for 17 years- This is my life’s work.”
I am forever invested in the lives of the so many women and families I have met over the years. My presence in the local community has allowed me to be the “Mom Matchmaker” and provide resources from the many colleagues that these families need to navigate through parenthood.
Creating a foundation with the “What have you done for yourself this week?” question that I ask in all my classes has given women the strength they need to take care of themselves so that they can be the best parents they can be to their children. This is something I learned from my mother.

“To say Michelle is a yoga instructor [as Google says] is to undervalue her. She is a pospartum doula, yoga instructor, mom's group
facilitator, and more.”
